Chamber Calibrations
UKAS Chamber Calibration Services
Temperature and environmental chamber calibration
UKAS chamber calibration services ensure chambers operate accurately and consistently according to internationally recognised standards. Chambers must operate within their specified temperature or humidity ranges, and calibration of these instruments will provide reassurance in the validity of results.
UKAS calibrations in particular offer the most accurate temperature calibration points. Pair this with the transparency and competency of the calibration methodology used and remaining compliant with GMP or FDA regulations is simple.
With our UKAS-accredited chamber calibration services, we can assure you that your temperature-controlled instruments and units are operating efficiently. We can calibrate a range of different chamber units, varying from laboratory equipment calibrations to fridge and freezer calibrations, as well as the below technical instruments.
Chamber Calibration Services
Chambers can take many forms within the scientific and technical markets, however, their primary use is typically for accelerated or longevity testing studies. Environmental test chambers, stability chambers, climatic chambers and many other variants all require calibration to ensure that any discrepancies between the displayed values of the enclosure are identified.
We perform the corresponding calibration of the internal chamber temperature with our market-leading equipment which is independently checked against a known and verified standard.
How do we approach UKAS chamber calibrations?
With precision and accuracy. You can have confidence that your climatic chambers are performing optimally and delivering accurate results through Withnell Sensors' calibration of the complete chamber system.
We use PT-100 sensors inside the chamber to record the environmental conditions across a temperature range of -80°C to 50°C and match the results against the chamber's own display.
Our accredited quality management system ensures stringent management of documentation and procedures, providing added reassurance and validity.
The key benefit of a UKAS chamber calibration is that it prevents incorrect information from affecting the testing results, the essential process ensures the integrity of testing, product storage, and overall operational quality, reducing risks, and costs, and ensuring customer confidence.
No matter the brand or budget, we can cater our chamber calibration services to suit your unique needs. We offer competitive turnaround times and the very best measurement uncertainties available to today's market. Take advantage of over 15 years of experience in accredited temperature and humidity calibration services.
Types of chamber calibrations:
Onsite UKAS cold room calibration
Used for storage of temperature-sensitive items, such as vaccines, food, or biological samples. Calibrating these rooms ensures that temperature conditions remain within specified limits to prevent spoilage or degradation.
Our on-site UKAS cold room calibration uses high-accuracy equipment to provide reliability and accuracy of your cold room. Our highly trained technical engineers will complete the UKAS calibration and leave you with detailed information including calibration certificates, as-found and as-left data, test point deviations, instrument tolerance and the instrument operating range.
Environmental chamber calibration
Used for simulating different environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and pressure, it is essential to perform annual environmental chamber calibrations at the minimum. Accurate calibration ensures that products or materials are exposed to the exact environmental stresses they will face in real-world scenarios and will provide the necessary research information to push new products or finished goods over the line.
An example of the importance of environmental chamber calibrations is their use in the pharmaceutical industry, whereby regulatory bodies like the MHRA require environmental testing investigations to be conducted on new drug compounds before their release to market.
This extensive process will involve a unit undergoing environmental chamber calibration to ensure the temperature and humidity-controlled environment is validated. A UKAS calibration certificate is often a key part of compliance with the MHRA expectations.
Even minor variations can affect the outcomes. That's why our team of trained engineers can come to your facilities and perform in-depth environmental chamber calibration onsite. This will minimise regulatory challenges, ensure accurate results and streamline instrument downtime.
Stability chamber calibrations
As essential in the manufacturing or storage processes in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries, these chambers need to maintain specific conditions over time to ensure product stability. Any inaccuracies in temperature or humidity can lead to incorrect conclusions about product shelf-life or quality, ultimately affecting the safety, efficacy and quality of the product.
We provide our very own Kambic chambers as well as partner with brands including Haier and FARRAR. This means we have an extensive knowledge of the various chamber units themselves, along with a UKAS-accredited chamber calibrations service, there's no dispute we can provide you with the most thorough and efficient chamber calibration directly at your site.
Chamber calibrations to suit you
As with any chamber calibration service or project, we will take the time to agree on the scope of the calibration required, the duration of the test, the parameters to be determined & much more. The calibration conditions must be recorded by the Withnell Sensors.
Based on our expertise, having performed over 10,000+ calibrations each year, calibrating the display reading of the enclosure is not the best method for documenting the environmental conditions whilst in operation. This is an essential stage of stability and environmental chamber calibrations.
We recommend placing at least one temperature and/or humidity sensor near the load within the enclosure as this will provide more reliable data than the units display going forward.
